Assistive Technology Design Engineering Contest (ATDEC 2021) is launched. This is a unique challenge for young engineering and researching teams from across the country to develop assistive technologies that improves and increases opportunities for people with special needs and disabilities in the community.
The competition will take place in two categories:
- Assistive electronic devices,
- Assistive software
Participated teams should present their solutions 1st stage by prototipes or softwares. The teams which successfully will pass the first stage will participate into the second round, which will take place in an environment equipped with a special technical and material base, where during three days in a row the teams will have to solve the improved solutions presented to the jury by considering the additional conditions.
For each category prize fund is : 1st place (1,500,000 AMD ), 2nd place (1,250,000 AMD) and 3rd place (1,000,000 AMD)
National winner of contest will receive 2,500,000 AMD prize.

Contest is organized by Armenian National Engineering Laboratories of National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Tech2Life initiative - the UNDP and UNICEF joint project “Stronger Services for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development“ aim to strengthen the basic service provision system in Armenia, through a life-cycle approach and provision of continuous care and support to children and adults with disabilities.
